It’s been 5 days since I announced Bingo Love to the world, and I still can’t believe that this is happening. I remember being super nervous about this announcement, the second thoughts were creeping in big time. Definitely was feeling that no one would be interested in reading a romance comic about two Black teenage girls falling in love with each other.

Needless to say I was pretty wrong about that idea.

I attended a Love is Love signing on 3/15, the day after the announcement, on Long Island and I handed out the above postcards. I absolutely loved talking up my girls and sharing the synopsis. There was one point during a convo with a customer, that I noticed myself crying. The woman that I was talking to had tears in her eyes and she said this is a book that she was waiting on for quite awhile. That’s when I knew – beyond a shadow of any doubt – that there was no need for me to have anymore self-doubt while writing Bingo Love.
The reception to Bingo Love has been so surreal. I am blessed that the members of this team even said yes to me. We promise to bring you a heartwarming and heartbreaking romance story. March 15th can’t come soon enough!
